Packaging is both a customer-facing product and a shipment input. The review should connect presentation with product protection, assembly and carton decisions.
Anchor the pack to the product
Use current product dimensions, weight, fragility and orientation. A packaging decision based on an old sample can create fit and protection problems.
Clarify whether the pack is for retail display, gifting, shipping protection or a combination of roles.
Control artwork and proofs
Identify the supplied artwork, version and approval owner. Agree what a digital or physical proof can and cannot confirm.
Destination-specific text, claims or labels should be flagged for the appropriate qualified review.
Write the packing instruction
Record unit count, inserts, folding, inner packs, master cartons and any handling marks requested for the order.
The approved pack and the shipment brief should use the same unit and carton assumptions.
